My boy! Utah Children's Photography

On a day when I had no intentions of taking his picture, I made my son

sit down for these. It only took a few minutes to capture a couple that I have already

fell in love with! I kind of think he is handsome!

Frequently Asked Questions

Where will your session take place?

Your session will take place at a location of your choice. I can also shoot indoor at my home studio or at any indoor location you choose. If you are unsure about locations, I can suggest one for you. The location will depend upon the style you want for your session (ie...at a park vs. an urban setting). Great portraits can be taken in the comfort of your own home or yard as well!

What is the best age to photograph babies?

Newborns should be photographed within the first two weeks of life. They are super sleepy, are very "pliable" and easy to move around, don't cry very much, and usually sleep peacefully throughout the entire session. After the two week mark babies become more wakeful and lose that fleeting "newborn bliss" stage.

What should my child wear for their photo session?

For newborns.....All natural is the best!! Nakedness, diapers, and onsies are the best option. Soft blankies and fuzzy hats add a nice touch to each photo session. Be sure to rub baby lotion on their skin to combat the dry, flaky skin that newborns usually have the first couple of weeks.

For babies....simple and comfy is suggested. Frilly dresses or "shirt and tie" outfits should be avoided. Dress your baby in clothes that will fit them at the time of the shoot and avoid buying clothes that they are intended to "grow into."

For girls.... fun and funky is Savanna's personal favorite. Unmatching patterns, bright colors, stylish hats, leg warmers, tutus with jeans, cowboy boots with sundresses are just a few suggestions. Please do not dress your girls in fancy dresses as this is not consistent with Savanna's style of photography.

For boys.....comfy and cool. Jeans with layered t-shirts, snow-boarder beanies, polo shirts with "popped" collars, blazers with un-tucked shirts underneath, rocker skeleton t-shirts with vans shoes are just a few suggestions. "Sunday's best" style of clothing is not recommended.

What should my family wear for their photo session?

I suggest that families wear coordinated clothing, but not matching clothing (ie. everyone in white t-shirts with jeans). It is best to select two or three colors that you would like incorporated into your clothing choice and then dress each family member in different clothes but within the same color scheme.

Do you photograph weddings?

Yes, but on a limited basis. Please contact me for details and package pricing.
